​​​​​​​Togolese officials and the OCP Group’s African subsidiary have forged a groundbreaking partnership to serve farmers in the Plateaux-Ouest region.

​​​​​​​On June 9, Togo’s president, Faure Gnassingbé, laid the cornerstone of the future Agricultural Services Center in Kpalimé (Plateaux-Ouest region). The regional one-stop sustainable farming office was launched by the Togolese authorities and the OCP Group through its subsidiary OCP Africa, supported by the World Bank. The Kpalimé agricultural complex displays the OCP Group and Togolese authorities’ commitment to groundbreaking, value-building agriculture. The new facility aims to boost the value chains’ competitiveness and empower farmers by providing them with access to a wide array of key products (fertilizers, inputs, seeds, phytosanitary products) and services, such as customized advice to improve agricultural practices, notably via un call center with a state-of- the-art laboratory to analyze the composition of soils and measure their fertility. Agricultural machinery and irrigation equipment will be available to farmers, while a model farm will demonstrate ideal agricultural practices.

One of the project’s key components is a Smart Blender, which will allow farmers to obtain the best possible fertilizer blends for their soil and yields. “The Kpalimé agricultural services center will fuel Togo’s agricultural development,” said OCP...
